Description
Hello All.

I have a problem of the pagefile becoming HUGE (1.2GB)to the point where windows simply slows to a crawl. All down to D2006, as no other program is running at the time.

This is while I am simply editing some code in D2006 with all updates applied to date (Feb 2007).

I was doing some large code block copy and delete, so this may have something to do with the history aspect of Delphi, but certainly has something to do with its handling of data in the windows pagefile.

Also, the boot up and close down times of D2006 are EXCRUCIATINGLY SLOW, so I minimise D2006 instead of closing it, thus the problem of the growing pagefile becomes even worse.

Steps to Reproduce:
Do any sort of editing that involves copy and paste, and deleting multiple characters from lines. Watch the pagefile size in Task Manager Performance graph.

Depending on the edit action, the speed at which the pagefile size ramps up may be variable.

My system allows 1.2GB as a max (1% of 120GB).

PC is HP Pavilion P4 at 2.8GHz and 1GB RAM or thereabouts.
