Description
In rails editor, when trying to delete a selected text, the deletion fails if the selection includes any folded comment or block of code.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open a ruby file
- Let say it contains a two-line comment such as :
# PUT /news/1
# PUT /news/1.xml
- If it's unfold, fold this comment
- Make a text selection including this folded comment
- Hit backspace
- The selected text is not deleted and the folded area is unfolded
The problem shows up for any folded area, should it be a comment or a block of code.
The problem doesn't occur if you delete the text with the "delete" key.
However it's really annoying because the scaffold generation creates two-line comments for each action, which are automatically folded in the editor.
Workarounds
Unfold any folded area before deleting selected text, or use the "delete" key.
---------
Use "Delete Line" command using [Ctrl+D] key binding on the folded lines.
