ASP.NET: Data Validation by Michael Li
TYPE: Regular Session

PREREQUISITES: Web development experience.  Working knowledge of ASP.NET a plus.
ABSTRACT: You just spend the last 5mins entering information into a webpage, hit the magic Submit button and got back a screen filled with errors.  Frustrated?  ASP.NET has made data validation a breeze to work with.  

In this session, learn how to use the ASP.NET validation controls to handle the 7 most common data validation situation in a web application.  You will learn how to handle validations without using javascripts, understand how and when validation occurs, server versus client validation processing and different ways in providing feedbacks to users.

Code examples for this talk will be provided in both Delphi.NET and C#.

While this might seem like a relative simple topic, it is often overlook how much time saving components have been provided as part of the ASP.NET framework.  This session will cover:

- Overview of ASP.NET Validation Controls
- Using the Simple Validators

- Using the Complex Validators
  >> RegularExpressionValidators, CustomValidators
- Summarizing Results with the ValidationSummary Control
- Separating Validation into Validation Groups
