Description

Source code for all components is a basic requirement of commercial software development, which significantly enhances a Delphi user's ability to debug their own code and fix problems in Borland's code when they arise.

Including the source code will also allow much more complete QualityCentral reports regarding dbExpress issues, as the cause of an issue can be better isolated.

The source code release does not need to be under an open source license -- the regular Delphi VCL/RTL source license is fine.

I think that this is a must after the numerous and serious bugs in the drivers.
Having the opportunity to correct them at the moment and not to wait for years will be a benefit for everyone.

Yes, and i expect that it would take at least some of the load off Borland's developers, so that more bugs can be corrected in each release. At least if I were to find a bug and a solution to it, I would send my solution to Borland. I'm not saying that the Borland people don't do their job well or anything, I'm just saying that if all of us had the source we could add to the effort. We would all benefit.
