Description
The object inspector doesn't show the ControlCollection property, even though it's published in the VCL-code.
Steps to Reproduce:
Place a TGridPanel on a form, add a TMemo in one of the cells.
Read the poor documentation (generally the documentation looks "beta", is very slow and nowhere near the help I got in D7) to see how to span columns.
Give up and turn to the DFM-file to discover the ControlCollection property. It's missing from the Object Inspector.
Workarounds
You can set the properties runtime but due to the unfinished nature of this control, it's a tedious trial and error procedure (compile, see what happenes, close and try again)
Design time you'll have to edit the dfm-file.

Perhaps you were looking in the wrong spot. The properties relating to the ControlCollection are actually displayed on the Control you have selected in the TGridPanel. This allows you to span rows or columns and also move the control to a different position within the TGridPanel. I have attached an image as well.
This control is documented poorly, however there is a Developer Network article available from:
http://dn.codegear.com/article/33421
The TGridPanel is usable but has some quirks. Hopefully they will be fixed in the next release. If you search for TGridPanel in the Delphi project in QC you will find them.
