Description
Request to bring back the control.cancel group or if it already exists, to make it visible again, so that it easier to see if and why a post was
cancelled.

Format might be something as was generated by XanaNews, which on the previous NNTP server looked like...

Reason for cancel as provided by the one cancelling a post.

The server doesn't currently ask for a reason when a message is deleted, so we'd be missing that data point.

Control.cancel could simply store the cancel messages, and these would contain the reason for cancellation. That is how the old DNews server worked. Of course cancels done through the web interface would not be caught, but AFAIK, most members of TeamB use NNTP anyway.

Indeed, I was confused with what XanaNews does and how other news-clients handle cancelling posts. In XanaNews when cancelling posts you can add a comment to it, (most?) other clients do not always provide this option.
So the "why" is probably not generally possible. OTOH, maybe, when the cancel button is back on the web-forum part, that could be an option to add there?

Many TeamB members (anf they are usually the ones who cancel) use XanaNews. <g>

I can envision a text box on the confirmation page when one deletes a post where a comment could be entered. I just hope Jon isn't up to his neck in these feature requests. B-)
