XanaNews stopped connecting/authenticating

Description
Up until 11/13/09 I used XanaNews daily to obtain newsgroup access to EDN. I often needed to attempt a connection/request twice to get it to authenticate/complete properly.

Since 11/13/09 I have been unable to connect and download new messages at all. Nothing in my Xananews setup was changed and I have tried this from several different ISP connections.

On 11/16/09 I finally started changing my username/password to see if the problem was with them. Still no dice. The connection icon in "Queued Requests" remains red. There does not appear to be any further info available.

Any help would be appreciated.

More recent versions of Xananews are available here:
  http://xananews.techtips.com.br/
... these should also work properly in combination with the embarcadero news server.

The news-server containing XanaNews support groups is:
forums.talkto.net
