Description
If you have a form that contains a lot of controls in a complex tree-like structure (panels within panels within scroll boxes etc., all overlapping), sometimes, to find a control, it is easier to go and select it from the structure's view. However, it becomes very difficult from time to time to also find that
control in the structure's tree view.

It would be nice to have the same as in the tool palette: a "quick find" edit that, when some text is typed in, select and bring to view in the tree view, the corresponding control.

Actually in XE there is such quick find edit. You can also select your components by using IDE Insight.

Really?

The filter edit for the structure pane is a feature that is added by Andy's DDevExtensions 2.x.

You are right, almost impossible to remember what feature is not part of Delphi itself if you install those plugins immediately after installing Delphi ;)
But yes, valid feature request in that case.

IDE Insight is available in Delphi 2010, too.
Please press F6-key when Form Designer is active, David-san?

Takahashi-San this report is IMHO a valid feature request and I will open it later today after looking for existing reports.

Ok, I changed Area field to 'IDE\Structure Pane'.

David Tetard at 5/24/2011 11:32:55 AM -
Yes , it works, I never used IDE insights before. Thanks.
